Membership

Singapore Energy Centre (SgEC) was envisioned as a collaboration between the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), and founding members such as ExxonMobil. Its goal is to create a framework for a long-term research partnership to innovate the use of energy and develop the next generation of technologies that will have a profound impact on the grand challenges of today as well as on the generations to come. Corporate member objectives also include awareness and interpretation of leading-edge technology through collaborative research.
The SgEC will bring together academics from across the two Universities and leverage on each University’s expertise and facilities. The Universities will work with leading corporate members, individually or collectively, on jointly sponsored research projects, with a focus on generating sustainable energy solutions with significant long-term impact on the quality of life.
The Singapore Energy Centre will serve as a focal point for close collaboration between universities and industry in exploring solutions for addressing the dual challenge of meeting society’s growing energy needs while addressing the risks of climate change.
The SgEC provides a rich platform of resources and members to resolve basic science questions (core research) while facilitating a Master Research Agreement for proprietary member-directed research.
